I have funeral sickness cover through local networks and regional groups.
I have committed to the Code of Conduct for AOIC members.
I attend online CPD sessions monthly
I am protected with public liability and professional indemnity insurances.
I have lived in Weymouth for most of my life, and consider myself very lucky to do so, as it really is a beautiful town.
I have an adult daughter who is currently studying her MA, so I am a very proud mum!
My house has been nick-named 'the Ark' by my neighbours because I have a lot of animals and regularly come home to find families visiting them in the garden! I have bunnies and tortoises, as well as my two beautiful, crazy dogs called Pod and... wait for it... Topsy Wiffle Waffle!
When I am not busy mucking out the animals or walking the dogs, I love to read, to watch Formula 1 and to listen to music - I have very eclectic taste but my die-hard favourite band is The Rolling Stones. I am also a crafter, mostly I make home-made cards but I do sometimes dabble in other craft areas, and my current project - a very long-term one - is building a dolls house!
I love crystals, I am known for my wide collection of crystal necklaces, and crystals can be found on just about every surface and in every corner of my home!
I have worked for Glastonbury Festival for twenty years - it's great fun and as volunteer campsite stewards our team has raised a huge amount of money over the years. My Glastonbury week is a real highlight of my year, where I get to let my hair down and just soak in the music, the happy atmosphere and the fabulous sights that you come across!
Over the years I have also undertaken various challenges to raise money for different charities, some have been fun, like a jail break with my friend Claire where we made it to Barcelona and back in 24 hours with no money, and some have been not so fun, like walking the 100 mile mountainous route of the West Highland Way!
My degree is in American Studies with Literature and I have a deep interest in Civil Rights. One of the best experiences of my life was travelling around the Southern States of America on a Civil Rights Pilgrimage. I learnt so much and is really has shaped the person I am today.
Since becoming a celebrant, life has become utterly joyous, I am so proud and grateful to make a positive difference in people's lives.
